Inside the app:

1. Tap the middle button.

2. Choose the Books tab, then tap the + button. 

3. Tap on gutenberg.org.

4. Choose the book you want by searching or browsing.

5. A book cover is displayed if one is available. Above are two buttons: Click Read to download and open the book, or Save to just download.

From your computer:

1. Choose the book you want on gutenberg.org site.

2. You'll see a list of formats (HTML, EPUB, etc.). What you want is the Plain Text format, UTF-8 is OK.

3. Right-click on the "Plain Text" link. Select the option to download or save the file on your computer.

4. Once downloaded, you can either mail yourself the file or use iTunes to transfer the file to Perdrix TXT. See instructions for both methods below.

Inside the app:

1. Tap the middle button.

3. Tap on archive.org.

4. Choose the book you want by searching or browsing.

From your computer:

1. In your web browser, choose the book you want on archive.org site.

2. In "Download options", choose "Show All".

3. Right-click on the ".txt" link. Select the option to download or save the file on your computer.

4. Once downloaded, you can either mail yourself the file or use iTunes to transfer the file to Perdrix TXT. See instructions for both methods below.

From your mobile device:

1. In your web browser, choose the book you want on archive.org site.

2. In "Download options", choose "Show All".

3. Long-tap on the ".txt" link. A menu will be shown.

4. Choose "Copy".

5. Switch to the Perdrix TXT app.
6. Tap in the field "Paste or type URL".
7. Tap again In the field "Paste or type URL", choose "Paste".
8. Hit the Return key.

free-ebooks.net

From your computer only:

1. Choose the book you want on free-ebooks.net site. TXT must be listed as an available format.

2. Click the Download button.

3. Choose TXT in the drop-down list. The book will download to your computer.

4. You can either mail yourself the file or use iTunes to transfer the file to Perdrix TXT. See instructions for both methods below.

manybooks.net

From your computer only:

1. Choose the book you want on manybooks.net site.

2. In the "select format..." drop-down list, choose "Plain text (.txt)".

3. Click the "download" button. A new window will be displayed.

4. Click on the filename. The book will download to your computer.

5. You can either mail yourself the file or use iTunes to transfer the file to Perdrix TXT. See instructions for both methods below.

 

Mail method

1. Attach the downloaded file to an email message and send it to an email address available on your device.

2. Open the email in your device.

3. Hold your finger on the attachment until a menu appears. Choose "Open in Perdrix TXT".

4. The book opens in Perdrix TXT. You may want to change its title (middle button, Info tab).

 

iTunes File Sharing method

1. See the Apple instructions.

2. You should see "Perdrix TXT" in the list of apps. Click on it to select it. Now you can add your downloaded file.
